Dog Park, Pork Tacos & some Koz

Well first of all....we are officially members of the Frenchtown Dog Park! yahooo! We took the girls there today once I got home from work - it was fantastic to see the girls run around and be complete free to run around and have fun. I don't think I've ever seen Honeybear run that much...now that she has dropped some lb's she has so much energy. And Bebe was loving it - they both did really well and socialized well with the other dogs - was a fun time. We will be spending lots of time there going forward. I totally forgot to snap some pics as I was focused on the pups but - promise I will next trip.

I have to say - yeah me! Three days completely on plan! I am very proud as it has been a LONG time of going this many days with no junk-food! Ok now, Chad and I did have a couple beers last night but....I even accounted for those and limited myself to two of these delicious badboys aka Hoegaardens

Man they were so yummy! Of course those two beers ate up 10 points but - totally worth it! I enjoyed every sip :)

Tonight we made Pulled Pork Tacos with Asian Slaw - so good! We were health and resourceful as the pulled pork was leftover frozen pulled pork from Chad's retirement party. We didn't want to waste the leftovers so just froze them - it reheated really nicely. I made some Asian Slaw and put in on top - all wrapped in a whole grain tortilla - delicious!

Asian Slaw

*2 cups chopped cabbage
*1-2 cups broccoli slaw (Mann's is the brand i buy in the produce section - basically shredded raw     broccoli, radishes & carrots)
*1/2 chopped yellow bell pepper
*1/2 cup scallions chopped
*1/4 cup chopped cilantro

for dressing:
*1/4 cup rice vinegar
*2 tbsp soy sauce
*2 tsp sesame oil
* 1/2 - 1 tbsp fresh ginger
*1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
*2 tsp sesame seeds
*srichacha sauce to taste or whatever hot sauce you prefer - you could also leave out

Mix everything in a bowl and enjoy! Tastes fantastic on these tacos but - you could also use this as a side dish. I estimated one cup of the slaw to be 1 WW+P based on 6 servings.

Totally delicious! :) So now I am sitting here on the couch typing this - freezing my arse off as apparently a house built in 1910 has a draft or two! I have had a few thought about buying a snuggie. seriously. ugh.

I am also making a "chill playlist" for Spotify.... I dragged over about a dozen Red House Painters songs and stopped - I really want to just drag over everything by them but that would take forever. I know I've said this a few times on here but - Mark Kozelek is just brilliant.  His lyrics just squeeze the hell out of my heart & cast a spell of deja vu/nostalgia when i hear the first note. Crazy I know. Kinda that "i'm gonna either throw up, laugh or cry and i'm not sure which....maybe all three" feeling. And if you don't know that feeling....it's a shame :)

I have seen him a dozen or so times live, have met him twice and really hope to see another show of his soon....le sigh! I think I have shared with you a few RHP songs but - here is one of my favorite Sun Kil Moon songs - his other project. Lyrics are genius!
